Project Description
This project aims to economically empower women and adolescent girls living with or affected by HIV/AIDS by providing them with a sustainable source of income through the sale of firewood. By engaging in firewood collection, processing, and sales, participants are able to improve their livelihoods, support household needs, and contribute to their families’ well-being. The initiative also helps strengthen community ties by offering an accessible source of energy for cooking to local households.
Objectives
To enhance the economic independence of women and adolescent girls through firewood sales.
To provide a sustainable livelihood opportunity that reduces economic vulnerability.
To strengthen the capacity of beneficiaries in small business management and cooperative work.
To contribute to improved household well-being by ensuring participants can meet basic needs (food, healthcare, and education).
To foster community support and solidarity for women and girls living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
Achievements
Provided income-generating opportunities to participating women and girls.
Supported households with steady income to cater for education, healthcare, and nutrition.
Created a community-based firewood supply chain that meets local energy needs.
Strengthened confidence, leadership, and financial literacy among beneficiaries.
