In a concerted effort to strengthen community health systems and protect children from preventable diseases, a large group of mothers gathered today at the AWAGHA offices in Bugiri for the ongoing Childhood Yellow Fever Immunization Campaign. The mobilization exercise, led by AWAGHA’s Health Strengthening Systems Program, aimed at increasing awareness and improving immunization coverage among children under five years of age. The event saw enthusiastic participation from mothers across different communities who brought their children for vaccination. The exercise is part of AWAGHA’s broader commitment to support Uganda’s national immunization goals through community engagement, awareness creation, and collaboration with local health authorities. Many mothers expressed appreciation for the initiative, citing the convenience of accessing free vaccines and the health education offered during the campaign. The event concluded successfully, with health workers administering vaccines, providing information on routine immunization schedules, and encouraging continued participation in upcoming health outreach programs.
